Initially located in South Wales, the acquisition of Devon-based Westward Polystyrene in 1998 further consolidated the company's position as a market leader with nationwide coverage.
In 2007, a management buy out saw one of the two directors of SWP leaving to pursue other interests. The remaining director, Graham Middleton, decided that, with his vision for the future of the company, the time was right for a complete overhaul of the company's brand and identity, hence the birth of GM Polystyrene.
GM Polystyrene's core business is as a converter of expanded polystyrene into a variety of packaging solutions. In addition, the company also offers the following:
- Corrugated cardboard boxes
- Foam products
- Contract packaging
- Moulded EPS products
